Kozhikode: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) in Ernakulam has ordered reinstatement of P.P. Harith, an employee of the Indian Embassy in Riyad in Saudi Arabia and a native of Kozhikode in the service of the embassy. A Division Bench of CAT passed the order on March 7 on a petition filed by Mr. Harith challenging the termination of his service with the embassy in Riyad. He was working as a marketing assistant at the embassy, Mr. Harith said in Kozhikode. The Central Administrative Tribunal in its order number OA No. 660/2005 also directed the Ministry of External Affairs to pay full backwages after reinstating him within three months. Mr. Harith was locally recruited as commercial assistant in 1985 and promoted as marketing assistant in the embassy. His services were terminated in September 1998 for alleged misuse of his position in the embassy.
