Annarao Patil
GULBARGA: Noted industrialist and businessman Annarao Patil, who had gone to Singapore for a health check-up a few days ago, died at a private hospital there in the early hours of Tuesday. He was 58. Mr. Patil, the son of philanthropist and industrialist Galangalappa Patil, had gone to Singapore for a regular health check-up at a private hospital where he had undergone a liver replacement surgery a year ago. However, his condition worsened and he collapsed at the hospital. Mr. Patil, who had set up cement plants in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, had been one of the leading suppliers of concrete sleepers to the Railways. He had also been involved in other business activities of the family. He leaves behind his wife, two sons, three daughters and his aged parents.
