Council poll campaign hots up

Rajahmundry: With the elections for Legislative Council drawing close, candidates in East-West Godavari constituency have intensified their campaign. According to official statistics there are 1,72,300 graduate voters in the two districts and of them 18,000 are from Rajahmundry alone.

There are 27 candidates in fray for Graduates constituency. Prominent among contenders are Chiranjeevini Kumari, Parakala Prabhakar, Potula Viswam, K.V. Satyanarayana Raju, Mentai Padmanabham, former MP and minister, Pakala Satyanarayana, contesting with the support of BJP.

Nimmala Ramanaidu is also in the fray.

Nallamilli Adisesha Reddy and Cherukuru Subhash Chandra Bose are prominent among the candidates contesting for teacher's constituency.
