WARANGAL: A Janashakti naxalite has been arrested by the police and two DBBL guns recovered from his possession here. Disclosing this at a press conference on Tuesday, Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said the police personnel, who were on patrolling duty near Komatipalli plantation area in Mangapet mandal, found one Panuganti Srinu alias Suryam alias Vijay, 22, moving under suspicious circumstances. On interrogation he said that he was Eturunagaram area commander for Janashakti group. He was bringing the weapons from Thondial forest area to be given to new recruits. He earlier worked with the CPUSI. In 2006, Srinu joined Babanna squad of Janashakti.
Sympathiser held
In another incident, the town police arrested one Jannu Anil and recovered .32 country made revolver from him. Anil has been working in a cotton mill in Gorrekunta village of Geesukonda mandal. He was give the revolver by fellow worker S. Ramana Reddy, who was recently arrested by the police. Anil was planning to extort money from people with the weapon. He is Janashakti party sympathiser.
