Caught in ACB net

NALGONDA: Sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Tuesday raided the house of Assistant Divisional Engineer of APCPDCL K. Srinivas stationed at Suryapet and seized property, documents and bonds reportedly disproportionate to his income.

A group of ACB Inspectors conducted simultaneous raids on the officer's houses at Hyderabad, Nalgonda and Khammam.

One of the Inspectors R.S. Reddy told reporters that Mr. Srinivas owned three houses and five plots in Hyderabad, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Khammam. Some bond papers, promissory notes, documents related to chits and 30 tolas of gold were found during the search in his home at Alivelumanga Colony in the district headquarters.

Mr. Reddy said that two bank lockers at Khammam and Huzurnagar are to be opened to assess the total value of his property. "We believe that he earned all these things through corrupt means and the value of his assets and property could be disclosed on Wednesday after a thorough investigation," the Inspector said.

While Mr. Srinvas broke down during the ACB raid, his family members argued that the property was gifted by his father-in-law to his wife. Three teams were deputed from Hyderabad to raid the houses of the official.
