Notification for DPC polls on March 16

HYDERABAD:
Notification for election of members of the District Planning Committees (DPCs) in the State will be issued on March 16.
In tune with the spirit of 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendment, the Government has decided to constitute (DPCs). The decision to issue the notification was taken on Tuesday after Panchayat Raj Department officials held discussions with Panchayat Raj Minister J. C. Diwakar Reddy.
The DPCs that will replace the District Development Review Committees (DDRCs) are entrusted the task of preparing the draft plan for the district.
According to the notification, enrolment of voters will be done on March 16 and the final list displayed on March 28. Nominations for the post of DPC members will be accepted on March 29 and elections held on April 7.
