Police detain youth under Goondas' Act

Coimbatore: The Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City, C.K. Gandhirajan, has ordered the detention of Suresh (24) an ex-convict under the Goondas' Act.

Suresh was arrested recently on charges of waylaying and robbing a person of Rs. 150, near Pappanaickenpalayam.

He was causing breach of public peace, tranquillity and safety, hence the decision to detain him, a police press release here has said.

Purse found

Senthilkumar of MNG Street has handed over an unclaimed purse containing Rs. 3,000 cash and a key chain with three keys, which was lying unclaimed near a footwear shop at Gandhi Park.

Emulative

The Police Commissioner, C.K. Gandhirajan, appreciated the youth for his honesty and sincerity.

The owner of the purse could approach the Assistant Commissioner of Police (Control Room) and claim the same after establishing his bona fide, a police press release here has said.
