PMK criticises West Bengal MPs
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI:
The Pattali Makkal Katchi on Tuesday described as an insult to parliamentary democracy the scuffle involving Members of Parliament from West Bengal and Union Minister for Shipping T.R. Baalu in Lok Sabha.
In a statement, S. Ramadoss, PMK founder, said that while the MPs from West Bengal had every right to demand the establishment of a university in their State, they had no right to say that the proposed Maritime University, for which the Union Minister tabled the Bill, should not be set up in Chennai.
The University should be established in the city, for which all the parties in Tamil Nadu should remained united.
