LIBA meet on business ethics

Staff Reporter

CHENNAI : Loyola Institute of Business Administration (LIBA) is holding its first international conference on Business Ethics, Corporate Governance (CG) and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), starting on Thursday.

The objective of the two-day conference, `LIBA Beacon', is to inculcate ethics in corporates and students.

The event will be inaugurated by M. Damodaran, Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). J. J. Irani, Director, Tata Sons Ltd., is slated to deliver a special address.

According to Fr. P Christie, Director - LIBA, in a globalized, competitive world with seamless borders, getting ahead seems to be the predominant objective; and while some institutions insist on getting there the right way, others seem to be in a hurry, not much mindful of the means involved.

`Inculcation of ethics'

"As creators of the managers of tomorrow, we believe that inculcation of ethics at a very early stage in individual professional life span is crucial," he said.

For details, contact conference co-ordinator Bonny M Avanoor on 98842 58525.
