`Mysterious death' of CPI (M) leader
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD:
A CPI (M) leader B. Venkat died under suspicious circumstances at a corporate hospital in Secunderabad on Monday.
Party city secretary P. S. N. Murthy alleged Venkat (22), a resident of Malkakgiri, suffered severe injuries after two persons assaulted him at Mini Tank Bund at Safilguda on March 7 when his car hit their motorcycle. Passers-by rushed him to the hospital where he died on Monday while the police said Venkat might have died due to health problems as he was suffering from jaundice.
"The mystery behind the case could be unravelled only after getting the autopsy report. We also picked up the motorcyclists Narsing Rao and his son Srikanth," police said.
