HYDERABAD: The MCH has dropped plans to take up construction of modern multi-level parking complex in two of the three places it had proposed last year for various reasons. Now, only one at old pension office in Khilwat has got the nod. Official sources said tenders for the parking complex in the old city will be finalised next month and construction will be taken up by Patel Industries under the Build, Operate and Transfer formula. Two other private parties -- GVK Industries and Futurage Industries -- too had come forward to take up building of multi-level parking complexes near the Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, Banjara Hills and near the Secunderabad Gurudwara. Now, the corporation wants to set up a sewerage treatment plant (STP) near the Vengal Rao Park to take care of the sewer water entering into the park. As far as the site near Gurudwara goes, it was felt that it would come in the way of the proposed Mass Rapid Transit System.
