Report seeks closure of masjid

KOCHI : The police have submitted a report to District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish citing the need to close down Madeena Masjid, Pullepady, where clashes took place between two sections of devotees a few days ago. The clashes followed dispute over the ownership of the masjid. The police report comes in the wake of the possibility of another clash this Friday, during prayers. — Staff Reporter

Consumers' meet on Thursday

KOCHI: A consumers' meet will be held at Gandhi Bhavan, Kacheripady, on Thursday, on the event of World Consumers Day. It is being organised by the Federation of Consumer Organisations Kerala, mainly to discuss shortage of water and cooking gas.

Re-accreditation

KOCHI: The Sacred Heart College, Thevara, is submitting itself for re-accreditation of National Assessment and Accreditation Council on Wednesday and Thursday. The NAAC peer team of experts will visit the college and assess the entire spectrum of its academic and co-curricular activities, following which the institutions will be graded. — Staff Reporter

Tourism festival

KOCHI: A tourism festival will be organised by Kerala.com, a company engaged in tourism services. The three-day event will be held at TDM Hall from March 31.

The organisers said at a press conference here on Tuesday that about 100 hotels and resorts would take part in the festival. Cultural events will be organised at the DH Ground, as part of the programme. There will be competitions for children and lucky dip for visitors. — Staff Reporter
