THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Students should be given the democratic right to assess and evaluate the quality of their teachers, Minister for Education M.A. Baby has said. He was speaking after inaugurating the 12th All-India Children's Educational Audio-Video Festival jointly organised by the State Institute of Educational Technology (SIET) and the Central Institute of Educational Technology (CIET) in the city on Tuesday. "We should be bold and courageous in making innovations in the field of education," he said. Though the State has made creditable achievement in the field of general education, the quality of education offered is still a concern, he said. "The focus of the Government is to improve the quality of education," he said. "The focus of the ongoing festival should be on how to use modern technology in the field of education," Mr. Baby said. The Government would conduct State-level educational audio-video festivals from next year onwards.
