JNU gets a new head

NEW DELHI: Distinguished scientist and former University Grants Commission Chairman Yash Pal has been appointed the new Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University here.

He succeeds Dr. Karan Singh whose term expired on February 28.

The notification by the Union HRD Ministry appointing Prof. Yash Pal as the new Chancellor was received by the University a week ago, said JNU Rector.
