Nokia to expand floor space

CHENNAI: Mobile phone maker Nokia has decided to expand the current floor space of its Sriperumbudur facility to 53,000 sq. m. from 30,000 sq. m. This is part of the already announced four-year investment commitment of $150-million. The company, celebrating the first anniversary of production in India, has announced the appointment of Sachin Saxena as its new Director of India operations for the Chennai manufacturing facility. He takes over from Jukka Lehtela, who had played a pivotal role in building the Nokia Telecom Park. Mr. Sachin Saxena moves from LG Electronics.
