Plea for pension

Special Correspondent

Puducherry: The Pudhuvai Pradesa Nadaswaram and Thavil Isai Kalaingargal Welfare Association has called upon the administration to introduce pension scheme to enable the employees in the Hindu temples to get monthly pension on their retirement from service. A resolution adopted at the 13th anniversary of the association wanted the Government to convert the Society for Welfare of Workers into a Welfare Board.

The association protested against temples using power operated music and "melam" gadgets during poojas.
