Patencheru CI arrested on murder charge

Staff Reporter

Sangareddy: The Vanasthalipuram police arrested Patancheru Circle Inspector Kishan Singh on Thursday in connection with the alleged murder of former naxalite Swaroopa.

Swaroopa who surrendered to the police is said to have developed intimacy with Kishan Singh who was working in Chegunta police station at that time. Swaroopa's relatives allege that Kishan Singh, who is already married, took her as his second wife in 1999 and they were living together in Vanasthalipuram. However, two months ago, Swaroopa disappeared mysteriously and the police near Bollaram forest area found her burnt body a week ago. Initially, the police treated it as a case of unidentified dead body. Meanwhile, Medak Superintendent of Police R.B. Nayak informed that Kishan Singh was suspended from duties immediately after his involvement in the disappearance of Swaroopa became evident.
