Demand to start survey on water project

BIJAPUR: The Nandawadagi Etha Neeravari Horata Samiti has demanded that the survey work on the project be launched immediately.

A delegation of samiti members, including president Siddaramappa Sahukar Santhekellur; honorary president Lingraj Bhupal and working president Lingraj Chukanatti, met Hungund MLA Doddanagouda Patil in Hungund and urged him to take up the issue with the Government.

If implemented, the scheme that proposes to draw water from the Krishna river at Nandawadagi village on the contour of Narayanpur reservoir will irrigate 1.3 lakh acres of land in Hungund, Kustagi and Lingasgur taluks of the district.

Mr. Patil reportedly said that he was also pressing for project and assured the delegation that he would take up the issue aggressively.
