Anti-CPI (M) protests

MUMBAI: Protests were held in Mumbai and Pune against the firing on farmers in Nandigram and the office of the Communist Party of India (Marxist)in Pune was damaged.

Over 200 people shouted slogans and denounced the firing in front of the CPI (M) office in Worli on Thursday.

The National Alliance of People's Movements (NAPM) and Lok Rajniti Manch, a newly formed political party, and other groups took part in the Mumbai demonstration. Surekha Dalvi of NAPM said that when the protesters neared the office, members of the CPI (M) also came out and started shouting slogans. She said the protesters were taken to the N.M. Joshi Marg police station.
