CHITTOOR: The BJP is the only party capable of giving good governance in the country, said Thirunavakkarasu, former Union Minister at an intellectuals' sadassu organised by the party here on Wednesday night. State vice-president N.P. Venkateswara Chowdary and former State president Chilakam Ramachandra Reddy, along with Karnataka State Minister Katta Subramanyam, participated in the sadassu. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Thirunavakkarasu expressed regret over the unruly scenes in the Assemblies and Parliament. Such things did not occur during the BJP-rule, he claimed. Stating that the party was gaining strength day by day, he said it won the recent elections in two States -- Punjab and Uttarakhand. The Congress will not win more than 20 seats in the ensuing Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. He urged the party cadre to strive to elect party candidates Duvvuri Radhakrishna Reddy and Y.V. Rami Reddy in the Legislative Council election. Karnataka Minister Katta Subramanyam said the BJP ruled the country on the basis of ideologies for the welfare of the people. The country developed under the regime of former Prime Minister Vajpayee.
