Kakinada: Bhattiprolu Tukaram Sharma, president of the All India Federation of Astrologers' Societies, Kakinada chapter, has regretted that the date of the Ugadi celebration is made controversial. At a press conference here on Thursday, he clarified that the date of festivals would be decided by corroborating both astrology and dharma sastra and by taking into consideration the time and the tidhi. If the subject is considered basing on Dharma Sindhu, Nirnaya Sindhu, Dharma Pravrutti and Kalachandrika and other books, he said, Ugadi should be celebrated only on March 19. He said the solar eclipse would be on March 19 till 7.30 a.m. and people should take bath after the eclipse and celebrate Ugadi.
