BERHAMPUR: The 10th Berhampur Book Fair was inaugurated at St. Stephens' Church ground on Thursday. It would continue up to March 23. Over 105 publishers and booksellers from all over the State and outside were taking part in the fair, which was said to be the biggest event in South Orissa. Inaugurating the fair, Vice-Chancellor of Berhampur University J.K. Baral said book fairs would help promote reading habit among the new generation students who were mostly hooked to television and computers.
A stage and open-air auditorium were also part of the book fair. Literary seminars, poetry recital sessions and traditional cultural shows would be organised every evening, said Pramod Panda, secretary of the Berhampur Pustak Mela Samity, the organiser of the fair.
