Indian origin fashion designer held

Los Angeles: A fashion designer of Indian origin in the United States has been arrested in connection with a series of alleged sexual assaults dating back to 2004.

Anand Jon Alexander, 33, who has dressed the likes of Paris Hilton and actress Michelle Rodriguez, was arrested on March 6. He is being held at the Los Angeles County Jail on a total of seven counts of rape, committing a lewd act upon a child, sexual battery, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, reports said.

Bail for the designer has been fixed at $1.3 million. — PTI
