Staff Reporter

  • Tuitions arranged in backward areas
  • Study material also supplied to students

ANANTAPUR: The district police have taken up a noble task to help improve the pass percentage in SSC examinations by providing necessary assistance like supply of study material, arranging tuitions and supplying material like exam pads and pens to students from poor families, as part of its `Yuvata-Bhavita' programme.

Superintendent of Police M.S. Raveendra explained that they had initiated the programme after learning that pass percentage in the SSC examinations was poor in the district compared to other parts in the State.

"We have decided to help the students from poor families," the SP said. We would try not only to improve the pass percentage but also make efforts to improve confidence levels among the students before the commencement of the examinations.

Accordingly, the Police Department had arranged tuitions to standard X students from poor families in backward and remote areas and also the areas with very poor pass percentage in SSC examinations.

Tuitions arranged by the department were going on in Kuderu, Rapathadu, Chennekothapalli, Uravakonda, Obuladevara Cheruvu and other areas.

    14,000 students

In all, 14,000 students in the purview of 24 police stations in the district were being helped out under the programme, the SP stated.

He distributed writing pads, pens and study material, including question banks, free to the students in ZP High School at Rapthadu on Thursday.

He said all the students identified by them would be given the material. The SP thanked the management of Pratibha tutorials for providing the material.
