TIRUPATI: A good 92 per cent of students passed the State-level Epic Study Examination (Sanata Dharmica Vignana Pareekshalu) conducted by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) last November. TTD conducts the exam to inculcate values, morality and also a spiritual bent of mind in the younger generation. According to the results released on Saturday, 67,794 students from 863 schools in the State took the test. Some 30,474 students of VI and VII classes took the entry-level `Dharma Parichaya' test and 55,244 of VIII, IX and X standard took the advanced `Dharma Praveshika' test. The pass percentage for the two categories was 92 per cent and 89 per cent respectively. T. Mahabub Basha of JCNRM Municipal High School, Tadipatri (Anantapur) topped the `Dharma Parichaya' exam with 93 per cent, followed by K. Satish Kumar of Bobbili, Vizianagaram (90 p.c.) and V. Bhargavi of Amanagallu, Mahabubnagar (89 p.c.). Similarly, in the `Dharma Praveshika' stream, the toppers were R. Jayanti of Tirupati (88 p.c.), P. Vineela of Hanamkonda, Warangal (97 p.c.) and A. Sravani of Ongole (86 p.c.). Certificates would be given at the zonal-level meetings soon.
