Some statistical highlights from the Ireland vs. Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka vs. Bermuda matches played in the World Cup on Thursday. The tie between Ireland and Zimbabwe was only the third in WC history. In 1999, the scores were tied in Australia's semifinal against South Africa, who also ended level with Sri Lanka in a pool match in the 2003 tournament.
Bray's feat
Jeremy Bray became only the sixth player from a presently non-Test playing nation to score a hundred in the WC, joining Dave Houghton & Andy Flower (both Zimbabwe), Feiko Kloppenberg & Klaas Jan van Noortwijk (the Netherlands) and John Davison (Canada).
Carries bat
Bray became only the 12th batsman to carry his bat through an innings in the WC, joining Sunil Gavaskar (Ind), Glenn Turner (NZ), Geoff Marsh (Aus), Andy Flower (Zim), Ramiz Raja (Pak), Gary Kirsten (RSA), Ridley Jacobs (WI), Neil Johnson (Zim), Craig Wishart (Zim), Ishwar Maraj (Can) and Marvan Atapattu (SL). Sri Lanka's 321 for six is its second best in World Cup, next only to the 398 for five against Kenya in 1996.
