Traditional start to Kodandarama Brahmotsavam

TIRUPATI: The annual Brahmotsavam at the TTD's Sri Kodandaramaswamy temple began here on a traditional note with `Dhwajarohanam' on Saturday.

The priests hoisted the holy flag, bearing the image of the Lord's celestial carrier `Garuda', atop the flag post at 8.45 a.m. in the auspicious hours of `Mesha Lagnam'.

The deities of Kodandarama, Sita and Lakshmana, along with `Chakrathalwar', were taken in a procession after the grand inaugural. In the evening, the deities were taken in a procession on `Peddasesha vahanam'.
