CHENNAI: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd, Chennai Telephones, on Thursday launched online payment of Bfone (landline) and Cellone (cellular) bills through its Internet site http://billchn.bsnl. co.in. Customers can register at the site by giving their telephone number and personal consumer number. On registration, they can start paying bills online after logging in and using Master /Visa /Diners Club credit/debit cards. Customers can also pay through netbanking accounts by choosing the payment option after logging in. They are entitled for a discount of 1 per cent on the bill amount (excluding service tax) subject to a maximum of Rs.1,000 per bill. There are other features such as obtaining the bill copy and STD call-details through e-mail. At present, the service is available through arrangement with nine banks.
