BANGALORE: A proposal to set up a task force headed by an MLA to manage the water crises in the city would be mooted in the ongoing legislature session, Health Minister R. Ashok has said. He has asked the officials to use 75 per cent of the available money for works related to drinking water and the remaining for other works.
Drought relief
He was speaking at the review of drought relief programme, water problem and Ashraya housing scheme in Bangalore Urban district on Saturday. Mr. Ashok asked the officials concerned to make use of the Rs. 3 crore given for water and road works in the three taluks. About the sale of water at Rs. 2 per pot in Bommanahalli, the Deputy Commissioner of Bommanahalli City Municipal Council said that steps were being taken to dig 32 borewells at a cost of Rs. 1.5 crore.
