CHENNAI: Janata Party president Subramanian Swamy on Saturday said that India should tread with caution and not encourage Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf's opponents. "The Government should not misjudge the position of President Musharraf and prematurely act in any manner that would encourage his anti-Indian opponents in Pakistan," he said in a press release. According to him, those who oppose Gen. Musharraf were the most rabid Islamic fundamentalists. Some of the opposing politicians in the past have encouraged the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan when in power, he said. They had also backtracked on social reforms due to pressure from fundamentalists.
