NEW DELHI: Janata Party president Dr. Subramanian Swamy on Sunday demanded that Italian businessman and an accused in the Bofors payoff case Ottavio Quattrocchi, who was arrested in Argentina last month and freed on bail later, be brought to India and interrogated. Extradition proceedings against Mr. Quattrocchi are going on in an Argentine court. Addressing a press conference here, Dr. Swamy said that Swedish police officer Sten Lindstrom's report had been lying with the Government for the past three years. The former Union Minister also criticised the UPA Government for dredging through the Rama Setu which satellite laser dating has established to have been constructed about 1.75 million years ago. He demanded that the Prime Minister also set up a committee to determine if alternative routes could be carved out in the Palk Strait.
