Karunanidhi denies reports

CHENNAI:
Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi has denied reports that Tamil Nadu will not get Cauvery water this year unless the final award is notified in the official gazette of the Central Government.
Responding to queries in this regard on Sunday, Mr. Karunanidhi said that till the final award was notified in the gazette, the Karnataka Government was mandated and obliged to release the quantum of water specified in the interim award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.
He also said people and farmers of Tamil Nadu were sought to misled by certain persons, who claimed that the State would not get any water this year.
