KOCHI: The inquiry on those from Kochi who went missing in tsunami waves at Velankanni in Tamil Nadu has been completed, according to District Collector A.P.M.Mohammed Hanish. According to the inquiry conducted by a committee led by the District Collector, the eight persons from the district who were missing after the tsunami waves hit the coast of Velankanni, were confirmed as not alive. The committee was formed as part of the guidelines set for distributing the financial assistance declared by the Tamil Nadu Government for the next of kin of those who were killed or went missing in the tsunami at Velankanni. The missing persons include Edvin Joseph of Ernakulam village, Mary Seeja, Felix, Verghese, Mini Sebastian and David Sebastian of Elamakkara and Sreekanth from Elavoor. The bodies of Mary Seeja and David Sebastian were recovered later. The reports of the committee had been published in the respective village and taluk offices on February 26 and no complaints have been received even after 15 days. In this background, the report will be immediately handed over to the Tamil Nadu Government.
