CHENNAI: Amandeep Singh of Central Railway won the Hercules Mumbai-Pune cycle race on Sunday, sponsored by TI Cycles. The 24-year-old Amandeep, a junior ticket collector, clocked 4:02:32.59 seconds. Harpreet Singh finished second (4:02:34.60s). Amandeep took the lead from the start and on the way to the victory, won the Panvel Prime, Khopoli Prime and Kamshet Prime sectors of the race and also bagged the King of the Ghats title for climbing the tough Bhor Ghat in 24.05 minutes. Amandeep received Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 18,500 for winning the other sectors.
