NEW DELHI: The Bharatiya Janata Party could be adversely affected in 10 to 12 Assembly segments around Gorakhpur where the party MP Aditya Nath is sulking over distribution of tickets and could even decide to go it alone. Senior party leaders have indicated that so far the party's fire-fighting mission party president Rajnath Singh had asked State president Kesri Nath Tripathi and general secretary Vinay Katiyar to talk to `yogi' Aditya Nath had not met with any success. While the saffron-clad `yogi' had considerable influence in the area, his capacity to win seats on his own was "limited" to one or two. However, it is conceded by party leaders that he could "damage" the BJP in 10 to 12 segments. "If he were to contest the seats independently, his candidates would be cutting the BJP vote," a party leader said. A few days ago it was indicated that the BJP might even be willing to accommodate him to the extent of changing a few declared candidates. But so far there has not been a positive outcome for the party.
