HYDERABAD: Three corporators of Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) -- Ummadisetti Bahadur, Appaji Rao and Abdul Khader -- reached the State capital on Monday at the end of a nine-day-long `padayatra'.

Their single-point agenda was `No' to water meters being proposed for consumers from the poorer sections in the city. They said fixing of the meters would lead to a situation where residents would end up paying more for water, at least double, than electricity.

The corporators said they would meet Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday.
