Welfare board for Central police forces

NEW DELHI: The Government has constituted a Welfare and Rehabilitation Board (WARB) for the Central police forces. The welfare measure is aimed at providing an institutionalised mechanism to look into the welfare and rehabilitation requirement of Central police force personnel.

The WARB will be entrusted with the responsibility of looking after immediate dependent of personnel dying in harness, extending help to resolve personal problems relating to children's education, land and property issues and serious medical problems.

The Board will consist of a Chairperson, Vice Chairperson and six members and will have an all India presence with six Central Welfare Officers, 29 State Welfare Officers and 124 district welfare officers, a Home Ministry spokesperson said here.
