GEM OF A COLLECTION: The wide range of gem-stone jewellery on show at the Kairali showroom in Kollam.
From agate rings to zigzag cut gem-stone necklaces and from coral studded bangles to crystal chains, the special gem and jewellery show organised by the Kairali show room of Handicrafts Development Corporation of Kerala Limited in Kollam is one that caters to all. The 24-day show, which began on March 8, is a big draw. The exhibition has transformed the show room into a kaleidoscope of gem stone jewellery. Within the past 12 days the show had brought in revenue of Rs.7 lakh. This is for the sixth consecutive year that the show has been organised and it is the trust that we have developed that has resulted in the success of the show, said S. Chandrakumar, the manager of the show room. He said that the gems sold from the show room are genuine and carries guarantee. The ornaments are finished in a wide array of stones studded in silver and gold plated ornaments. Mr. Chandrakumar said: "Name any gem stone and we have it here." The range includes all birthstones. Jade, corals red and pink, garnet, amethyst, rubies, topaz, opal, peridot, diamonds, sapphire, pearls, emeralds, cat's eye, tiger's eye, black and blue sun stone.
