Cricket fever

Staff ReporterShruthi Shivabasavaiah

BANGALORE: With the Indian cricket team surprising even its most diehard fans by setting a record, cricket fever is scaling new heights in the city.

Most schools, except those with the SSLC syllabus, are done with their final exams and children are out on the roads to play their favourite game.

Shivakumar, one among a group of pre-teens, analyses the Bermuda match with this reporter. He is sure that not only will India reach the Super 8 but also be in the Final Four. Amogh says, "There is only 25 per cent chance of India winning the cup." Yashas says, "If they score 6 runs per over they are sure to be in the Super 8." So who will win on Friday? The reply is a hearty chorus of whoops and cheers: "India, of course."
