Anand in fourth spot

NEW DELHI: Viswanathan Anand avenged the loss suffered in the blindfold game to Vassily Ivanchuk by scoring in their rapid clash in the third round of the Amber blindfold and rapid chess tournament at Monaco on Monday.

Anand, with 3.5 points, is in the fourth spot. World champion Vladimir Kramnik leads with five points.

Meanwhile, at Zafra in Spain, K. Sasikiran drew with joint-leader Manuel Perez Candelario to reach 1.5 points from three rounds of the Ruy Lopez International chess tournament on Monday.
