Anil outpunches Pradeep

HYDERABAD: Twenty-year-old Anil Kumar of Andhra Pradesh outpunched Pradeep of Maharashtra in the preliminary round of the light weight category of the 53rd Senior National boxing championship at Swarnandhra Pradesh indoor stadium (Gachibowli) here on Tuesday.

Anil, two-times sub-junior National champion and a bronze medallist in the junior National, came up with a good left jab and was very light on his feet.

Showing good agility and decent reflexes, this Andhra boxer, a trainee of SAI coach E. Chiranjeevi, got the better of the opponent with a string of heavy blows in the crucial final round to clinch the issue.
