Laptops for all 60 police stations

LG has supplied 76 computer systems comprising laptop, GB pen drive, colour printer among others

KADAPA: All the 60 police stations in Kadapa district would be equipped with laptops, one GB pen drive and colour printers and would also be linked to District Police Office by networking within the next three months, Kadapa Superintendent of Police Y. Nagi Reddy said on Tuesday.

Networking of District Police Officer, SP's camp office and Special Branch had been completed, he said, after switching on a Hewlett Packard server and 20 computer systems in the computer centre in DPO.

Training

Police officials would be able to issue print outs of FIRs from computer printers in a few months, he said.

Police officials would be imparted training at the centre in DPO, OSD (Operations) A.S.C. Wesley said. LG supplied 76 computer systems comprising a laptop, one GB pen drive, colour printer, USB mouse and USB keyboard and 5.1 channel speakers costing Rs. 30,000 each, he said.

Police officers would secure the systems with bank loans, the SP stated.

Grant

The Government enhanced expenditure grant for police stations in the budget, he added. LG Area

Manager Easwara Prasad said six more computer systems would be supplied soon.
