HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday asked people in the State to take cognisance of predictions by astrologers and be prepared to tackle their problems. He urged the Government to be proactive and give more priority to welfare schemes. He was addressing the cadre at the party headquarters here on Tuesday after listening to a prediction for `Sarvajit', the Telugu New Year, by Daivagna Ponnaluri Srinivas. His daughter, 16-year-old Nandini, had prepared the `panchangam'.
Mixed bag
The astrologer forecast that while the first rain would be good enough for a bumper harvest in kharif, people would face problems with water availability for the rabi season and other seasonal crops. Consequent to two of the 12 stars being aggressive, there would be a spurt in naxalite/terrorist activity in the country. Earlier, he was greeted with a roar of applause when he said `Chandrudu' was doing pretty well compared to the other stars. In Uttar Pradesh, he predicted that Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had the chance to come back to power, while Ms. Jayalalithaa in Tamil Nadu would grow stronger politically.
