Teachers' union to boycott SSC valuation

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh United Teachers' Federation has decided to boycott SSC spot-valuation work commencing on April 7 to press for its long pending demands. The federation had been demanding retention of unified service rules. They also want authorities to consider apprentice service of two years as part of regular service of teachers.

UTF general secretary N.Narayana, honorary president P.Krishna Murthy told media persons here on Tuesday that due to abolition of unified service rules, transfers of lakhs of teachers and their promotions had been kept in abeyance.

Besides, as thousands of teachers' posts were lying vacant, students were facing hardships.

Mr.Narayana said that though the Government issued GO 221 promising to consider apprentice service as probation service to determine seniority, it was not taking the service into account for promotion scales.
