Assigned lands issue for all-party meet

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Cabinet sub-committee on regularisation of assigned lands, headed by Municipal Administration Minister K. Ranga Rao, at its first meeting here on Tuesday, decided to refer the matter to an all-party meeting to work out modalities for the regularisation.

Revenue Minister Dharmana Prasada Rao told reporters later that an all-party meeting would be held accordingly before the close of the Budget session of the Assembly.

He said the Government had already decided as a policy to regularise the occupation of these lands in case of weaker sections, housing colonies, educational institutions, trusts, etc.

Modalities

But it would finalise the methodology for such regularisation after eliciting suggestions from political parties so that modalities finalised would be flawless.

He said the modalities would be posed to Cabinet for its approval before the Government went ahead for implementation.
