Broadband services commissioned

Tuticorin : The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited has commissioned Broadband Services at 10 more exchanges in the district.

Official sources said the services were now made available at New Christian Nagar, Satankulam, Alwarthirunageri, Sahupuram, Pazhayakayal, Puthiamputhur, Vilathikulam, Ettayapuram, Srivaikundam and Eral exchanges.

The BSNL has also introduced wireless STD public call offices in the district.

Reconnection `mela'

The BSNL will extend reconnection offer till March 30. It will organise reconnection mela at Salayam Street at Vilathikulam and at the telephone exchanges at Srivaikundam, Eral and Seiduganallur on March 22.

In Tuticorin town, the mela was scheduled near Cruz Fernando statue and near the Railway Gate No: 2 on the same day.

As a bonanza, the installation charges for landline connections will be waived till March 30.
