Signatures to be collected and sent to President, Prime Minister

MYSORE: President of the Cauvery Kriya Samiti (CKS) and former Union Minister V. Srinivas Prasad has said the samiti is all set to launch the second phase of protest against the final award of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal.

It would begin a signature campaign against the award. Signatures of people from all walks of life would be collected and submitted to President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, he said.

Complimenting the Karnataka Development Front Government for taking the right steps in protecting the interests of the State, he said the Government had not erred at any stage. Mr. Prasad also said that the formation of the Krishna-Cauvery Coordination Committee had added new strength to the people's agitation against the injustice done by the tribunal.

The former MP and president of the Mandya Zilla Raitha Hitarakshana Samiti G. Made Gowda had convened a meeting KCCC, which would be attended by the former Chief Justice of Karnataka and Kerala High Courts, V.S. Malimath, journalist Patil Puttappa, the former Irrigation Minister H.N.
