CAG report forwarded to Government

Puducherry: The Finance Accounts, Appropriation Accounts and the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India relating to the Puducherry Administration for 2005-2006 was forwarded to the administration on Wednesday which would be placed before the Assembly here. An official release said here that as per the provisions of the Government of Union Territories Act 1963, the CAG of India was required to forward the Audit Report on the Accounts of the Government here to the Lt Governor.

He will cause them to be laid on the table of the Assembly. The Finance Accounts together with the Appropriation Accounts compiled by the administration were examined by the Principal Accountant General (Civil Audit), Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry under the overall directions of the CAG in accordance with the provisions of the CAG of India (Duties, Powers and Conditions of Services) Act 1971.
