ELURU: Zilla Parishad Chairperson K.V. Nageswara Rao and Collector Lav Agarwal noticed poor amenities at the 10th class examination centres during their surprise visit in different parts of the district on Wednesday. A little over 53,400 students are taking the 10th class public examination in the district. The Zilla Parishad chief observed that he had seen several students taking the examination sitting on the floor. He said he would approach philanthropists seeking contribution for provision of minimum infrastructure facilities like chairs and benches in schools. Similarly, the Collector found that the students were deprived of even potable drinking water at K.P.D.T. High School in the city. Mr. Agarwal observed that another examination centre in Navodaya Residential School at Pedavegi does not have fans, exposing the students to sultry weather. Mr. Nageswara Rao asked authorities of the District Education Office to provide minimum facilities like first aid and drinking water at all the examination centres.
