Bhandari acquitted

Gangtok: A designated CBI court in Sikkim on Wednesday acquitted the former Chief Minister, Nar Bahadur Bhandari, of all charges in a disproportionate assets case dating back to 1997.

Special CBI judge Tashi Wangdi said Mr. Bhandari's assets were covered by his savings.

Mr. Bhandari, now State Congress president, was facing charges of criminal misconduct by a public servant and fabrication of evidence in the case. — PTI
